So This Guy Wakes Up At 2 A.M.......
And what does he do? He blogs of course. Never mind the time stamp at the bottom of the post, it's now 2:30, and I'm having one of my periodic insomnia attacks. There's so much to worry about - this endless war, Jon possibly blowing up a $30,000 instrument right before I left work yesterday, The Other (Younger) Half miserable with her mucus filled head. . . . .Oh who am I kidding, it's probably the cavity. The streak is over. I'll survive I guess. I'm just going to have to put my head down and power through this crisis, although that $3500 Pegoretti stainless steel bike frame with the Jackson Pollack-like paint job could be the balm that soothes this troubled soul. But I can't do that. People might get the impression that I'm selfish if I buy that while 'Nika goes without orthodontia and ends up with teeth growing out of the side of her head. Ok, here's a confession. I'm the most selfish person I know, so I'd come up with some stupid rationalization and buy the thing. Now there's something to keep you awake at night. Oh well. Chin up, muster on old boy. I'll just fill my head with all the things I'm grateful for in my life even if it doesn't include that Pegoretti frame. Stiff upper lip and all.

Who says your thoughts about buying $3,500 bikes keep YOU up at night? They keep ME up at night... I'll make you a deal though: After we become rich, you can buy that bike. In the meantime, maybe a cheaper model will suffice. I'm very willing to invest in your health and in the environment through supporting this worthwhile obsession.
Tracy: we grew up in Springvale township. A vale is a valley between hills or mountains. Ergo we are hillbillies. Our yellowish to brownish-black teeth should be a source of pride. Why do you disdain your heritage?
Other (Younger) Half: I'm working on that rich thing. I bought 2 lottery tickets for the first time in about 8 months. I don't think ANY of my numbers matched the winning numbers. Do you have any suggestions? At least I'm trying.
