Update: Daughter Not Shot On Bus

Finally, I got out on my bike today. 28 miles with the nerds from the TCBC. It's been 2 weeks because of the weather and my sore back. It was very, very nice. Popped up into the 40's today, and it will be even warmer tomorrow.

KyKy made it home yesterday without incident. The only reason I bring this up is that after yesterday's post, I sat down at lunch to read the paper and I saw on the front page of the B section that someone had been shot on a bus the night before. Great. It happend on the notorious #5 bus which runs from Brookdale to Mall of America and passes 2 blocks from our house on Chicago Ave. I've taken it a bunch of times at 1 in the morning when I worked at the hospital. One rollicking good time. It really didn't concern me all that much, but I was afraid that everyone else who knew I was sending my daughter home on Metro Transit would freak out. As it turns out KyKy took the bus (#18 and #21) home with one of her friends and they were joined for the ride by a 7th grader who is also on student council. No problems whatsoever. When I talked to her about taking the bus, she said she had been looking forward to it. Yessssssss.
