Back To The Grind

My plan worked, partly. I put out the siren call of bikes being ready, and two of my children showed up the next day. I picked them up at the airport, hugs and smooches all around. They still are going to have to fill you in on their adventures since they couldn't figure out how to blog from Suzy's computer. They went to North Carolina and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt. I actually got a very nice t-shirt saying "I'd rather be biking." Sweet.

So they get in on Thursday morning, we go out for a quick breakfast, and I head off to work. When I get back from work, the kids are at home, The Other (Younger) Half has gone to school, and the kids are planning to go to the school talent show with the neighbors. I opted out because I had a headache (work related). Our children did not participate in the show. It's not that they don't have talent, they do from The Other (Younger) Half. It's just that things have been so hectic that we didn't even think about doing something for the show. Now if they were to showcase any talent inherited from their father, it would consist of sitting on the stage in a comfy chair with the teevee clicker in one hand.

This is what I'm talking about when I say were back to the grind. I'm at work, The Other (Younger) Half is out late at school and the kids are running off to some thing or another. I'm feeling like we all need a vacation together where we can do nothing. That's my favorite kind of vacation.

I should have worn my new t-shirt today. Rain. Rain. Rain. Same for tomorrow I guess. Biking will be difficult until KyKy gets back from China. The Madster and 'Nika aren't at the point of being left by themselves for hours at a time while I'm gone. Let's see... "KyKy your bike is ready for riding!" Maybe that'll get her home sooner.
