The rest of day 8...

I can't remember where I left off but I think I was telling you about the dress. After we left the fabric market, Aunt Ann, Jessica and I walked down a little side road. This road is one that you would typically see in China. It was a residential road. Let me set the picture. A long road, you can't see the end because there are so many twists and turns. Numbers all over the white and dirty walls. People sitting, selling, walking or doing laundry. Pink underwear hanging from a line drying. Farther down are some sheets. The smell of cooking fish and rice is everywhere. That is only a little description of what I saw. I did take lots of photos though so I will have lots to show you. I was curious about the numbers all over the walls. Jessica told me that the numbers where the numbers of people selling things or people who could fix your bike. It was like the yellow pages on a white wall. After we came out of that road we when down a wider but even more crowded road that had food everywhere. Stalls and stalls of food lined the road. And everyone everywhere was eating and buying the food. Right when we came out onto the street we saw this huge vertical skewer with meat stacked one on top of the other. All down the street where colors and the smell of food. If you really want to see the real China that is where to go. We walked around there for a bit and after a while started to get hungry. So we went to a restaurant that sold bao zi. The veggie ones where my favorite. After that we walked around a bit more but started to get tiered so we headed home. For dinner that night Uncle Kent made some Chinese food. It was delicious.
